Yeah, I used to be a huge fan, but I just got sick of it I guess. I watched the first three seasons and then that was it for me.

I think all those shows are rigged if you ask me.

Every season there has been at least one person who has gone home too soon and one or two who should have gone home sooner than they did. People are fickle and change their minds a lot, and I think that this week Scott's supporters voted extra for him just to prove that Simon was wrong when he told Scott he would be packing his bags.

I don't believe this show is rigged. Shit just happens.

Yes I think that you’re right in that people are fickle and that they’ll vote for someone because maybe they did well this week, or maybe they liked the song, or maybe they don’t like the judges. I still think a lot of it is rigged though, and that, if your face doesn’t fit, you don’t have a chance. It is true to say that in this country we have had a couple of entrants who weren’t exactly idols by any stretch of the imagination – no offence intended to anyone, but when you think of an idol, and this in one of the judge’s words from the first season, you think of someone who is stunningly good looking, someone who the fans will look at and say “wow”. Such a person from the first season was Rick waller, a grossly overweight individual who was paid off to leave the series and was replaced by darius. Michelle from the 2nd series over here was everything but an idol, she was grossly overweight, and Pete Waterman was so annoyed at the fact she won that he has withdrawn from judging any such competitions in the future because he said that this woman did not fit the description pop “idol”. And although she won … guess what, she has never been heard of since, she released the single, but that’s it – if there ever was an album, I don’t know what happened to it, because it didn’t even figure.

I think x factor is slightly different in that they’re looking for someone from a more diverse range of people. Under 25, over 25 and bands … etc, so that leaves it way open for anyone to win – you don’t have to live up to an image like in pop idol where they might as well say “only beautiful people need apply”. Or maybe that would be “non beautiful people need not apply”.

Well, in my opinion (and I know this won't make me popular hehe, and no one has to agree with me either) his singing just has never beenthat great, it's always been a little sharp, never dead on and his rendition of "How You Remind Me" was just horrendous, well Scott's rendition was a lot worse but, well, I mean William Hung, the castaway from American eidol (who can't sing if his life dependent on it) became one of themost popular figures of the show, the public loves well the loser, the little man/woman, it's not based on tallent or appearance etc but on the ability to engage the public and the "oh I pity him" attitude just works very well, just look at all the bands who constantly claim they are awful and the worst band in the world and people shouldn't buy their records and, yet, they sell like crazy, or may be because of that.
Well, personally I'e never liked anyone from this show and I much more appreciate genuine artists who write and sing and play their own songs and come up the hard way, but that's just me and I know lots of people feelotherwise and that's cool hehe, I'd never make it past initial selection on this show and I'm quite happy with that. So, hehe, honnstly I think he was awful but I think so of all this year's contestents, Kelly Clarkson, I admit, actually has had a few good songs but she's, so far, the only American eidol person I can listen to hehe, can't see that changing any time soon but for those who enjoy it, that's cool.
Cheers
